SUNday Groove is rooted in the dna of northern groove — a concept born in 2018 in the north of mauritius that became more than a party. built around quality sound, great vibes and music without genre boundaries, groove created a distinct energy that resonated far beyond its original setting.
over the years, groove grew into a language. it shaped a real community around music, inspired people to start djing, and created a space where taste, discovery and shared energy mattered more than category.
SUNday Groove carries that spirit into a different format. instead of a night party, it becomes a daytime ritual — music, art, food, drinks, and people coming together in the sun. the storë at caudan arts centre is the home. the vibe is the same. the setting is softer, more open, more sunday.
28 june is edition #34. eight years since the first groove. the lineup reflects that — three of groove's core selectors, plus a guest from réunion island bringing something the floor hasn't heard before.
arnaud bazin has been digging through the indian ocean sound for years. based in réunion island, he works across sega, maloya, afro sounds and the deeper channels of the ocean basin — places where the dancefloor and the archive are the same thing.
for SUNday groove 28 june, he brings a set of 45s sourced from madagascar. rare, physical, hand-carried vinyl — music from an island that sits between réunion and the mainland and carries a sound all of its own.
